About Payments

For Owners and Property Managers

Your Home Our Home provides an easy and effective way to manage all the payments for a tenancy.

Payment Principles

  • Owners and Property Managers can receive 'Money in' from tenants and others.
  • Owners and Property Managers can make 'Money out' payments to tenants, utilities companies and others.
  • Tenants can make 'Money out' payments to Owners and Property Managers  .
  • There is no direct link between the payment statuses in the Tenants view and the Landlords view.  For example if the Tenant marks a rent payment as 'Paid' in their App the Landlord's rent payment status for rent is not changed.

Payments and Transactions

There are two main types of payment
  • One-off payments
  • On-going payments

Every payment is based on a single Payment Profile which details the regular amount, what it is for, who is paying it etc.  

Each payment profile will result in multiple 'Transactions'.  Every instance of a payment for a particular 'Payment Profile' is a 'transaction'.  

Money In/out in the App

  1. Click the 'Payments' tab on the main page.



  2. Click the 'All Payments' button.  This will show a list of 'Payment Profiles' for all Money In and Money Out payments.



  3. Clicking on a Payment Profile will open it to view the Payment Profile details.  It can be edited by clicking the 'Edit' icon at the top right.



Transactions - in the App

  1. To view the Transactions for a Payment Profile click on the 'All Transactions' button on the Payments Tab on the main page.
  2. This will present a page of payment transactions for the previous 30 days and the next 30 days.  These transactions include the key payment info for the transaction.



  3. To quickly mark a payment as 'Paid in-full on-time' just swipe left.



  4. To mark a payment as late or part paid or to edit it click on the payment to view the detailed list of transactions.  This will also show the full list of transactions from the very beginning.



  5. To edit a transaction click on the 'Edit' icon and complete the details in the popup as below, and then click 'Update'.



Money in/out - in the Web


  1. Click on the 'Money In/Out tab on the main page



  2. Click on the 'Payment Profiles' button to view all the payment profiles that have been set up for the selected tenancy.

Add New Payment - in the Web


  1. Click on the 'Add New Payment Profile' to add a new payment in the web.  View this Knowledge base article for more detail on adding a new Payment Profile.



Edit Existing Payment - in the web

  1. To Edit an existing Payment click the Edit icon on the top right of an existing Payment Profile.   View this Knowledge base article for more detail on editing a Payment Profile.



  2. From the 'Payment Profiles' page you can see the details for each payment that has been set up.  You can see at a glance:
    • When the last payment was received
    • What is owing 
    • When it is due
    • How many days late it is
    • The payment frequency
    • When the payment started
    • The total payments count
    • How many payments have been on-time, late, not paid
    • The Payment Reliability Score

To open the Transactions for the Payment Profile and to mark a payment as received/paid click on the 'Transactions' link at the bottom right of the Payment Profile.
